Okay, so, artificial intelligence is a two semester course on artificial intelligence
in the fall semester's AI1 and in the winter semester's AI1 and in the summer semester's
AI2.
This covers the basics and the layout of artificial intelligence, a much hyped topic at the moment,
which you can see with the many students here.
And I would like to start.
Let's see if this works.
Right.
The first thing we're going to do is the administrative stuff.
That's the stuff that's not a lot of fun, but we have to do it anyway.
So your first question might be, and I've gotten a couple of emails and this is what
are the prerequisites?
What do you have to know in order to be able to profit from this course?
And the answer is that I will presuppose, i.e. build on essentially the mandatory computer
science courses of semesters one to four.
So in particular, algorithms and data structures that we, I'm assuming that you can do some
programming, that you have some basic notions of complexity and so on and basic data structures.
I'll assume that you've heard GLEUN, Logical and Informatics, and also that you've had
some kind of a theoretical computer science course.
If you've not taken these courses, that doesn't mean you can't do AI one.
It just means that wherever necessary, you have to read up on those.
Some of the stuff like very basic complexity theory, I'm going to recap.
I'm basically going to recap many things, but of course, the learning curve is relatively
steep.
So can you do this course without the prerequisites?
Yes, but it's going to be more work.
The most important thing is that you actually want to learn about AI.
You can do this course if you really want to.
If you're not a computer science student who has these prerequisites, then you'll just
have to learn some of those things as you go along.
All right.
Are there any questions about this?
So let me just give you a general hint.
I value questions, even in this big of a course.
So please just raise your hand or just put your questions onto the chat.
I will try and monitor those and then try to answer.
So there's one question on the chat.
Will the video be uploaded on Stodon?
And the answer to this is no.
It will be uploaded on FAU.TV, which is a better location for the whole thing.
And I'll come to that in a minute.
Okay, there is Simon is raising his hand.
Yes, am I correct that you are not using Stodon, but the FSE forum for communicating with us?
Absolutely.
Yeah.
There are more questions.
All of those will be answered in the next slide.
So I would like to table them for them.
There's one as how much more work for students in medical engineering without knowledge of
these mandatory courses in CS?
